This morning we had breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary Resort. After breakfast, we headed out to Disney's Animal Kingdom. It was still cold and we were wearing our new sweatshirts. Having visited the Animal Kingdom in its first year, we hadn't seen the "Asia" region of the Animal Kingdom, and had thus missed the Kali River Rapids. So that was our first stop. There was no line because of the weather and people were hesitant to get wet in the cold, but we braved the cold weather and got on the ride. The ride was brief, but we were nonetheless drenched. Fortunately, the Animal Kingdom had heaters outside the ride to dry us off… somewhat. After the Kali River Rapids, we did the Maharajah Jungle Trek where we saw some tigers but not much else since it was too cold for most of the animals. Finally, we visited It's Tough to be a Bug, which we'd seen before, but we very much enjoyed. The show is very entertaining but could frighten smaller children.

Afterwards, we traveled back to Downtown Disney (it wasn't easy - we had to take a bus to the Caribbean Beach Resort, and then take a bus from there). Once at Downtown Disney, we stocked up on Disney beanbags and t-shirts. We returned the merchandise to our room, and then caught the monorail to Epcot. We were curious about the Millennium Celebration at Epcot, and also wanted to ride the Test Track, the newest attraction at Epcot. Sadly, on the monorail (which circles around Epcot before stopping), we could see that the Test Track was closed. We took in the Tapestry of Nations parade in the World Showcase, and then visited the Millennium Village. With still several hours to go until Illuminations 2000, Annie and I decided we'd visited the Dolphin Fountain, a soda fountain at the Dolphin Resort, accessible through the back gate of Epcot. We rode the boat to the Dolphin and had ice cream at the Dolphin Fountain. We still had time, though, so we once again boarded a boat and visited Disney-MGM, arriving just in time to catch the impressive Fantasmic show. Afterwards, we visited the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and returned to Epcot, but not in time to catch Illuminations 2000.

With Epcot closing, the line for the monorail was long, but we eventually made it back to our hotel. We turned in early since we had an early breakfast at Chef Mickey's.
